David Ward

UW–Madison Chancellor, 1993-2001; Interim Chancellor, 2011–2013

David Ward was chancellor of UW–Madison from 1993 to 2001. He also served as interim chancellor from 2011 to 2013. Throughout his career, he served in numerous leadership positions at the UW, was chair of the board of Internet2, and served as president of the American Council on Education. Ward earned his BA and MA from the University of Leeds and a PhD from UW–Madison.
